Impaired driver - medication can interfere with driving skill, as well as drinks consumed the night before.
Safety starts with a suitable driver. The onboard Konecranes Alcolock breath analyzer detects alcohol use with a 99% certainty rate, and prevents unsuited drivers from operating any lift truck or machine. The alcolock is compact, works in any temperature and can be retrofitted to any Konecranes lift truck.
Human error - Miscalculations sometimes happen, because nobody’s perfect
With Work Zone - a suite of location-based services designed by Konecranes to improve the safety of lift truck operations, especially in busy, high-traffic environments - you can remotely control lift trucks and their height limitations, speed limits and other safety matters inside computer-defined areas.
Work Zone uses GPS technology to create geofencing – virtual fences around real-world areas. Drivers can see selected alerts on their operating display and you can also send the alerts by SMS or email to chosen recipients.
Congestion - The chance of collision is higher in busy areas
In congested and busy areas is sometimes hard to have a clear view of what you have around, especially if you're driving a lift truck and reversing. With the reverse camera upgrade kit you can finally have your eyes in the back and avoid possible obstacles and collisions during your maneuvre.
And if the view is not enough, you always have the visual and acoustic alarm signals with the installation of the reverse warning system.
Engine overheating - Component malfunction or overheating pose a fire hazard in the engine compartment
Prevent fires from spreading with our automated fire suppression system for engine compartments. Should a fire break out, due to electrical malfunction or overheating, high pressure water mist is released immediately for a choking and cooling effect.

In busy and noisy situations, it’s not always easy to spot a moving lift truck in time. The Blue Point Awareness System enhances safety by creating an extraordinarily bright spot on the ground a few meters ahead of the lift truck, giving coworkers and pedestrians a clear warning of approach.

Collision warning and object recognition camera system - get obstacles warning and avoid collision risks with pedestrians and objects
While your operators and drivers are busy to handle daily operations, this camera system - mounted on the counterweight - warns them when an obstacle is detected in the driving direction, to avoid collision. When an obstacle is detected in the driving direction, a cabin buzzer is activated and with alarm at different intervals.
Container checking safety system - Ensure safer container check-ups and maintenance
